June 11, 2008 by scottchampion

Pretty Much thing that ever happened.  Yes, a full out/real Starbucks finally opened, Yay!  I found MY new workplace.  Although I no longer have a portable Mac.  (Wonder if I could walk in with a desktop ?!?)Starbucks

We lose sight of God.

June 11, 2008 by scottchampion

We lose sight of God.  (notice the simplicity, notice the shortness. Notice the PERIOD (.) . That is all; period. We lose sight of God.  Here is something kinda based of this recurring phrase.  I saw this bumper sticker and I love it.  Christians need to get into out government and do the right thing.  They want, (and have for a while) to take “God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance. Ahhh…

The Workplace: Walmart (?)

June 11, 2008 by scottchampion

So I’m strolling through “The Wall”  (WalMart) And I see this lady with a laptop on her shopping cart, open and on.  So I am thinking, wow.  We (Americans) have gone gone completely tech-based.  You don’t get the whole view until you live it.  (My view has recently expanded because my phone now has text.)  So getting back to “shop and work” Actually This lady tells me that she is a vendor for like 30+ Walmarts, so The laptop is her deal pretty much.  Which is cool, she tells me she’s not shopping (not a customer I guess) because she was buying things, which she said she was buying.

Just a thing I had to blog about.  Hope this was/is a worthy post.

Time Machine!

June 9, 2008 by scottchampion

Is Awesome.  I set it to back up my desktop only… (due to lack to drive space) It works like a charm.  I highly recommend it.  Time Machine saves a version of my desktop every hour, and keeps it for 30 days.  I just booted it up this morning and it seems amazing.  The UI (user interface) to go into “space” and “time” to retrieve files is pretty sweet.  ”The space-ness” is almost overboard but it is pretty killer still.  My words: Use it!

Free2Play

May 31, 2008 by scottchampion

Short Notices happen very often in Video Productions.. but at least this is a notice.  So The Final Cut World Tour was wednesday…  Thursday was Free2Play.  I won’t spend to long to explain it, so here is the link.  It was put on by The Gray Institute.  There was around 1200 middle school kids from all Lenawee.  We used 8 total video cameras.  3 are owned by Red Letter Productions, downtown.  They rented 4.  That is 7 JVC ProHD cameras shooting 720p.  Also there is a XHA1.  So this was a pretty large production.  It was fun…  On my feet for 5 hours, and got to skip most of that school day.  Pictures by Pete Bishop and Scott Champion

(Addition: Free2Play was picked up by local news: here and here)

Final Cut World Tour -Chicago…

May 31, 2008 by scottchampion

So it was 4 hours to the big (“windy”) city, It was a lot of fun.  We (Pete Bishop, Jason Ely, Zach Gallardo and Me) hit the Apple Store (glass stairs rock) so that was cool.   The seminar was in a hotel.  They had a few booths from some companies in the biz; such as: Panasonic (with their P2s), AJA, BlackMagic Designs, Canon, and JVC.  ZaK and I did not miss the opportunity to hit up with some swag.  Must I explain?  So about the actual Seminar.  They covered almost all of the programs in Final Cut Studio.  The technology is just amazing.  I can’t wait to incorporate Studio into my productions.  Apples new Color app, for well, color…  …Well it is amazing.  Color grading is so awesome through Apple.  Every little thing where you think, “You can’t do that, thats the way is is…”  Apple redefined.  Such as selecting a sound on the waveform and deleting it… It is just so cool.

Final Cut Server was also discussed at the event.  We at the church tech team are pretty fired up to get it and slide it into our workflow.  Offline editing, off location… And w/ 3gb/sec I hear: Network Editing…

So the future is looking good for post-production…
